This is likely to be my last update to this website as my children have now moved on from Manley Park Primary School. The PTA would love to find a new recruit to keep this website up-to-date – please get in contact if that person might be you!

Sponsor Mrs Wardle

by admin on June 21, 2016, no comments

A sponsorship request message from Year 3 teacher Mrs Wardle:

On the 9th July I will be taking on the Artemis Great Kindrochit Quadrathlon in Scotland. This is billed as one of the UK’s toughest one day events for which I have been training since January. I will be swimming 1.3km across Loch Tay then climbing 24km over 7 munroes (this is the equivalent of climbing Snowdon twice!), then kayaking 12km along Loch Tay and finally cycling 55km around the loch. This feat will probably take me the best part of 14 or 15 hours.

If you’re interested here’s a youtube video of the event to give you a flavour of what I’ve let myself in for.
Preparing for this event has been tough and has seen me do my first ever triathlon and spending my holidays up mountains and swimming in seas, lochs and rivers. You may well ask why I’m putting myself through this?! Well the whole event is set up to raise money for 2 fantastic international development charities who do brilliant work around the world:

Mercy Corps, an international development charity working in over 40 countries worldwide helping people to turn the crises of natural disaster, poverty and conflict into opportunities for progress.

Mary’s Meals, an international movement to set up school feeding projects in communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education.

If you would like to sponsor me to encourage me that would be brilliant to help me reach my fundraising goal.

Here is the link to my online sponsorship page or I will have a paper copy in my classroom if you would prefer.

Many thanks in advance,

Mrs Wardle
